I-35 reconstruction project in Olathe delayed one week

OLATHE — Because of wet weather, the schedule for the I-35 pavement reconstruction project has been pushed back. Below are the significant changes in the project work and related closures, according to the Kansas Dept. of Transportation: Sometime the weekend of April 4 and 5, weather permitting, the northbound I-35 lanes will be shifted. The following week, median crossover will be built at each end of the work, weather permitting.  Sometime the weekend of April 11 and 12, weather permitting, the Santa Fe Street-35th Street to south-bound I-35 entrance ramp and the south-bound I-35 to Old Highway 56 exit ramp will be closed to all traffic. South-bound I-35 lanes will be shifted to the north-bound side. All I-35 traffic will be carried on the existing north-bound lanes separated by concrete barriers while the sout-hbound lanes are reconstructed. Marked detours will be provided for the ramp closures.
