LYNDON — A 24-year-old Baxter Springs man was sentenced to serve six and a half years in state prison for drug charges and for a high-speed chase that ended in Osage cCounty.  Charles Miller pleaded guilty to possessing drug precursors for the manufacture of  methamphetamine and fleeing law enforcement, Osage County Attorney Brandon Jones said.  Miller took off at high speed when a state trooper tried to pull him over.  During the chase, miller and a woman in his vehicle threw items from the vehicle including chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Some of the chemicals struck the pursuing trooper’s car, Jones said.  Miller and the woman bailed out of the vehicle at a rural residence just north of Melvern Lake and fled on foot.  They were caught following a manhunt.  The woman also faces charges in the case, Jones said.
