ANCHORAGE, Alaska — There’s legal trouble for a former Miss Kansas, Teresa Vail, host of Outdoor Channel’s “Limitless,” who’s facing criminal charges for illegally killing a bear during a hunt in Alaska. Authorities say she had a permit to kill one bear but not a second bear. ABC News reports that the second bear was accidentally killed a bear and then she and a guide tried to falsify what’s called a “locking tag” to make it appear the second bear kill was legal. Michael Renfro, one of the guides on the hunt with Vail and has also been charged, ABC said. Vail says she “followed poor advice and allowed the second bear to be improperly tagged.” She said she reported the incident and has fully cooperated with authorities. “I am deeply sorry for my mistakes,” she said. Arraignment is set for next week. She was the first Miss America contestant to openly display tattoos and she had to choose a new skill for the talent competition when they wouldn’t let her shoot a bow.
