Copper stolen from cell phone tower

OTTAWA — A technician reported on Christmas a copper theft at a cell phone tower owned by American Tower in the 3200 block of Sand Creek Road northeast of Ottawa, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, said.  Copper plates and copper grounding wire were stolen and copper wire at the tower was damaged.  The loss was estimated at about $2,100 for Sprint and Verizon.
