OTTAWA — If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a painter, seamstress, or other type of artist, the Ottawa Community Arts Council will set aside a space for you.  Meg Pearson, OCAC, explained “A Maker’s Space” program to Ottawa city commissioners, who held their work study session at the Carnegie Cultural Center Monday.   “People can come and create, design or make whatever is in their imaginations,” Pearson said.  Space has been created in the basement of the Carnegie for the program, she said.  Some pottery supplies are already in the space.  The council hopes to have the program going by May beginning on Saturdays.  The arts council will try to pair makers with experts in sewing, graphic design, or whatever art or craft the maker wants to learn, she said.
