OTTAWA – Prosecutors spent this morning trying to poke holes in Kyle Flack’s contention that two drug dealers were responsible for the murders of four people nearly three years ago near Richter.  Narcotics detective Jeremy Thompson, Franklin County Sheriff’s office, said it was highly unlikely that big-time drug dealers that Flack described would endanger themselves by doing the type of things Flack described.  Troy Robinson, Kansas Dept. of Corrections employee at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, testified that he searched for drug dealers who matched the murderous duo described by Flack and offered some possibilities to detective Tammy Alexander; however, Alexander couldn’t find any matches.  In other testimony, a neighbor of Andrew Stout, one of the murder victims, said he went to check up on Stout and found blankets hung over the windows and a rear door. The next day, he returned to the farmstead and found investigators there, and in the process of searching for bodies.  He also testified that Flack owned a 12-gauge shotgun, which prosecutors say was used for the murders, which he kept behind the front door of Stout’s home.  He also testified he noticed growing tension between Flack and Steven White, another of the murder victims.  Laurie Helm reported she and her now ex-husband hosted a barbeque April 26, 2013, just prior to the murders, and Flack, Stout and Kaylee Bailey and her 18-month-old daughter Lana Bailey, the other two murder victims, attended it.  Helm said she asked Stout why White didn’t attend and Stout replied he hadn’t her mother kaylee bailey her ex hus Steven White didn’t show and Stout said he hadn’t seen him for a few weeks.
