OLIVET — An Ottawa man and a Colony man were injured when their truck was hit by a train near Olivet in Osage County shortly before noon Monday morning.  Ted Benson, 56, Ottawa, was driving the truck north on Wanamaker Road, and crossed the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks, and failed to yield to a train on the northern railroad tracks, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.  The truck was struck by the train, was overturned and thrown into in the northeast ditch.  Benson and a passenger in the truck, Sid Hobbs, 46, Colony, were injured and taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  The highway patrol said both men were wearing seat belts.  The train’s crew, Mark Bueno, 41, Gardner, and Richard Reischman, 29, Tonganoxie, weren’t injured.
