City considers memorial gardens for cremations

OTTAWA — A new way to deal with death may be on the way for Ottawa cemeteries. During budget discussions, city public works director Michael Haeffele asked commissioners for $10,000 for a study on creating a memorial garden at Highland Cemetery for bodies that are cremated. Commissioners took note of the increase in cremations and expressed interest in the idea.
