LAWRENCE — Democrat state representative John Wilson said he’ll resign for family and work reasons. He’ll formally submit his resignation in August or September, he said. Wilson, Lawrence, said he wants to spend more time with his family and his work for a non-profit group dealing with childhood obesity. Wilson is from the 10th House District, which includes Baldwin City, southern Douglas County and southwestern Lawrence. He has been in the legislature for five years. Democratic precinct committee members in the 10th District will pick his successor.
